Carbon fiber '2.3-16v' wing

Price
$1,600 CAD
Version:OEM style (with center pillars)
Finish:Sanded

This is a carbon fiber recreation of the OEM 2.3-16v style wing for the Mercedes 190e (W201). The wing has been re-engineered by STEVS Design using high performance materials and modern manufacturing techniques. In addition to substantial weight savings over the OEM urethane construction, this wing will not deform over time with exposure to elements. This is the perfect addition to a modern performance restoration of a 190e 2.3-16v.

The STEVS Design re-imagining

Recreating this understated, yet, iconic shape with modern materials gives us the opportunity to improve. The original urethane part, utilizes center pillars to support the heavy and flexible foam structure. These are no longer required thanks to carbon fibers stiffness and strength characteristics. The result is a cleaner "slick" aesthetic, while also improving airflow underneath the bottom of the wing plane.

Version 1 - OEM replica (with middle pillars)

The original overall shape re-engineered to be manufactured in carbon fiber. This option is perfect for your OEM+ restoration. Save weight over the factory urethane foam wing, while adding extra longevity to your restoration, as the carbon fiber construction is resistant to the inevitable warping the factory foam is susceptible to.

Version 2 - STEVS version (without support pillars)

For those looking for a new aesthetic, this version is manufactured without the center support pillars, resulting in extra aerodynamic performance, and better utilization of carbon fibers performance characteristics.

NOTE: If mounting the 'STEVS version' to a trunk lid that has previously had the OEM 16v wing installed, the center pillar trunk holes will need to be filled. We include carbon fiber patches (meant to be color matched by your body shop) as an alternative to having the holes properly patched.

Surface finish information

Sanded

The surface will be sanded and prepped and it is up to your body shop to prime and paint.

Race flat

The surface is 'dusted' in a matte clear coat. This is best suited for those with track or race applications, where the aesthetic is not a priority.

Production matte

The surface goes through our full clear coating process which offers the maximum in UV protection. The surface is finished with an automotive grade matte clear coat finish. This beautifully showcases the carbon fiber weave in a matte/satin appearance.

Production clear

The surface goes through our full clear coating process with offers the maximum in UV protection. The surface is finished with an automotive grade gloss clear coat finish. This beautifully showcases the carbon fiber weave in a glossy appearance.

The benefits of carbon fiber

If you have ever owned a classic car, you’re probably familiar with parts eventually degrading. Failing adhesives, cracked leather, peeling vinyl, faded materials- it will inevitably happen, no matter how well you care for your car. Time is cruel adversary that all of us enthusiasts must contend with. Composites, specifically, when high grade materials are chosen, is a great material of choice to revitalize a vehicle. Not only are you replacing a worn part, you are upgrading to a material that will last longer, and weather the elements, better than the original.

STEVS Design's mission is to provide a top-of-the-line carbon fiber experience. Our parts are made with the same vigor used to make some of the fastest and exotic super cars of our time. Every manufacturing step is carefully honed and developed to ensure a quality product. Sure, it sounds a little extreme to fixate on every little detail but that’s what we’re all about. As enthusiasts, this is about celebrating a piece of history, a moment in time where class, style and design were respected.
